We are looking for candidates who are strong communicators who enjoy working with students and are passionate about STEM education. Technical experience is helpful but not required-willingness to learn and facilitate student growth is most important.

Grundy Center Community School District is seeking a motivated Academic Decathlon Coach that will prepare students for competition across a variety of academic subjects while promoting teamwork, critical thinking, and a commitment to excellence. Responsibilities include organizing practices, guiding students in content areas such as literature, science, math, and social science, and preparing them for objective tests, essays, interviews, and speeches. The coach will coordinate competition logistics, track student progress, and support team-building and outreach efforts. Strong organizational skills are essential; prior experience in Academic Decathlon or related academic activities is helpful but not required.

Paraeducator *26-27 school year - open until filled

Grundy Center Community School District is seeking dedicated Paraeducators to support the instructional and related service needs of students across grades PK–12. Working under the supervision of licensed teachers, Paraeducators play a vital role in providing direct support to promote learning, independence, and inclusion for all students, including those with Individualized Education Programs (IEPs). Key responsibilities include implementing behavioral and instructional plans, providing individual or small-group assistance, and supporting students’ academic and physical needs to ensure a safe and positive learning environment.

Requirements:

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Ability to remain calm and professional in challenging situations.
  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to build positive relationships with students, staff, and families.
  • Iowa Paraeducator Certification (preferred). The Grundy Center School District will pay the course registration fee one time for eligible employees.

Substitute Route/Activity Bus Drivers

Grundy Center Community School District is currently accepting applications for **Substitute Route and Activities Bus Drivers.** Shifts are available as needed.

A successful candidate will have a valid Iowa CDL License, Class B with airbrake and bus and passenger endorsement. All job offers are contingent on passing a DOT Physical and pre-employment drug testing.

  • Pay for Substitute Route Drivers is $48.44 per route
  • Pay for Substitute Activity Drivers is $16.50/hour, free admission to the event they drive for.
